Jon excellant game!! You were a machine! Moves 21 and 22 for white were a nice combination that won the game. Ed played well and fought the whole game Jon just didn't give you a chance to come back.
I haven't looked back at this game until today. I do remember it being very tough!
Earlier I think I could have improved a little. At 14 .. a5 was not great. Better would have been c5 I think. When I finally did c5 at move 19, that was not the best choice, that should have been Nb3 given the changed positions at that point.
But I think you did hit the key point of the game. my move 20 was what lead to my downfall. I was frustrated that Jon did not seem to make mistakes! I tried to be a little aggressive, at the wrong point. I should have just brought the rook back (20 .. Rf8).
I can not see much else to add. Jon just played so well, especially with the fast, merciful mate!
Are you coming to the library on Thursday, April 14th?
THE TWINSBURG CHESS CLUB Twinsburg, Ohio
A chess club for all ages and levels. We play casual games every Saturday. We meet at the Twinsburg Public Library Summer hours 10:00 - 2:00 Non-Summer Hours 2:00 - 6:00.
This site is dedicated to the exploration of chess. I plan to post games that have been played at our club and present them in a format that will allow all of us to review and analyze our games. Feel free to email the moves from your games and I will post them. Just include who played white and who played black and I will put it into a viewer.
This way we can all get a chance to revisit our games and provide each other feedback and learn from each other.
